A hilltop retreat

This was a place to invite friends to stay over on weekends, relax by the pool, dine outdoors, play some pétanque, stroll through gardens or walk around twenty acres of natural space. The back yard looks out to Sacramento and each space has a view framed by walls or trees.
We placed some fun features: copper heat reflectors for the patio instead of less-than-aesthetic outdoor heaters, guest patios, seat walls everywhere, a bar overlooking the pool and the view.
Sustainable features include pervious paving, water-conserving plants and solar heating with an automatic cover for the pool.
